In the 2016 NBA Finals, the Cleveland Cavaliers faced the 73-win Golden State Warriors, a team that posted the best regular-season record in league history. After four games Cleveland trailed 1-3 — no team had ever come back from that deficit in Finals history.

The Game 7 Comeback

LeBron James took over across the final three games. In Game 7 at Oracle Arena he delivered a clutch block and a triple-double, lifting the Cavs to a 93-89 win and the franchise's first championship — Cleveland's first major pro sports title since 1964.

Why It Was the Hardest FMVP

• The opponent was a historic 73-win Warriors team;
• Coming back from 1-3 maximized the difficulty;
• Two-way dominance, capped by the iconic chase-down block on Andre Iguodala;
