Isiah Thomas grew up in a working-class family on Chicago's West Side. Drafted second overall in 1981, he spent a decade turning a weak Pistons team into champions.
In 1989-90 the Detroit Pistons, led by Isiah Thomas, successfully defended their title. The "Bad Boys" reached the summit for the second straight year, and Thomas was named Finals MVP.
