The Last Dance: Jordan and the Bulls’ Goodbye

The 1997-98 season, later called "The Last Dance," was the final campaign of Jordan, Pippen and Jackson’s core. Locker-room friction and the stalled Jackson extension made everyone aware: after a title, the team would likely break up.

With that weight, the Bulls stayed dominant in the regular season, advanced in the playoffs, and beat Utah again. Jordan retired for the second time after "The Last Shot." Jackson left, Rodman moved on, Pippen went to Houston — the dynasty dissolved.

Years later, "The Last Dance" documentary laid bare that year’s tensions, helping fans grasp the cost behind the team. Jordan’s retirement ended an era.
