The First Three-Peat: Cornerstone of the Bulls Dynasty
In 1990-91 Jordan finally broke past the Pistons’ "Bad Boys" for his first title; 1992 beat Portland to repeat; 1993 topped Phoenix for the first three-peat (1991-93).
These three years transformed Jordan from "scoring champ" to "champion core." Three Finals MVPs lifted Chicago from East power to league ruler. Phil Jackson’s triangle and Scottie Pippen’s support gave the team both talent and system.
The first three-peat proved the dynasty wasn’t a flash. Though he retired for baseball after 1993, the 1996 return and second three-peat stamped the 90s with "Jordan."
A dynasty’s first cornerstone is hardest. The 1993 three-peat was the Bulls legend’s true start.
