From Scorer to Champion: Jordan’s Evolution

Michael Jordan entered in 1984 as the third pick and soon dominated as a scorer, taking seven straight scoring titles from 1987. But early years stalled at Detroit; playoff heartbreaks stuck the "individual hero" label.

The turn came from system and help. Phil Jackson’s 1989 triangle asked Jordan to share and trust; Scottie Pippen grew into an all-around sidekick; Horace Grant anchored inside. Jordan learned to pass out of doubles, not just iso.

In 1990-91 the system matured; Chicago reached and won the Finals, Jordan taking the first FMVP with a fuller game. From "scoring machine" to "champion core," seven years completed the key evolution.
