2024 Celtics’ 18th Banner: Brown Crowned FMVP

In 2024, Boston stood atop the league again. Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum led the Celtics to dominate 2023-24, beating Luka Doncic’s Dallas Mavericks 4-1 in the Finals to raise the franchise’s 18th championship banner.

That 18th title put the Celtics alone at the top of NBA history in championships, past the Los Angeles Lakers (17). Brown, excellent on defense against Doncic and steady on offense, was the uncontested Finals MVP.

It was the payoff of years of growth for the "Jays" duo—from being questioned as "soft in the clutch" to actually reaching the summit. Boston waited 16 years for its first title since 2008.
