After the 1993 three-peat, Jordan retired amid his father’s death and played pro baseball in the White Sox minor system. Basketball went empty for nearly two years.
In March 1995 Jordan quietly returned against Indiana with the famous "I’m Back." Early on he was rusty, even losing to Orlando in the playoffs, but the world knew — he just needed time.
By 1995-96 the full Jordan returned: 72 wins, scoring title, fourth ring and fourth FMVP. From the minor-league grass to the NBA podium took less than two years.
Few comebacks have so completely retaken the crown. Jordan’s return proved: a true king’s exit is only halftime.
