Frazier rose from bench to star at Southern Illinois, leading the Salukis to the NCAA Final Four and building a defense-first foundation.

Frazier's college path was a classic underdog rise. He was not the outright star when he arrived at Southern Illinois, but through relentless practice and defensive instinct he grew into the team's brain.

He led the Salukis to the NCAA Final Four, taking a little-known Missouri Valley program into the national spotlight. Across four years he honed two lifelong tools: the anticipation of close defense, and the passing vision that made teammates better.

That experience shaped Frazier's core: unshowy, team-first, winning with the head. Later in New York he simply scaled up the same "defense + share" formula onto the Finals stage.
