2016 Cleveland Miracle: LeBron’s Comeback Crown

In 2016, Cleveland’s 52-year wait ended. LeBron James led the Cavaliers from a 1-3 deficit against the 73-win Warriors—everyone thought it was over.

But James refused fate. He won three straight, making Cleveland the first team in Finals history to rally from 1-3. In Game 7 he blocked Iguodala and hit the go-ahead three, nearly single-handedly shifting the series.

The title ended Cleveland’s pro-sports drought since 1964; James fulfilled his promise to bring a title home. He was the uncontested third Finals MVP of his career.

When James wept on his knees and champagne soaked the Q, a city’s obsession was finally released.
