2023 Finals MVP: Jokić Crowns the Nuggets

The 2023 NBA Finals were the crowning moment of Nikola Jokić's career. He led the Denver Nuggets to a 4-1 series win over the Miami Heat, delivering the franchise's first championship in 47 years, and was unanimously named Finals Most Valuable Player (FMVP).

Across that series, Jokić was historic: 30.2 points, 14.0 rebounds and 7.2 assists per game on 58.3% shooting. The signature was Game 4 — he posted a 30-point, 20-rebound, 10-assist near quadruple-double to clinch the title at home, becoming one of the rare players with multiple 30-20-10 games in the Finals.

The FMVP's weight lay in "all-around dominance." Jokić didn't win on a single burst; he shredded Miami with scoring, rebounding and passing — posting up with footwork, orchestrating from the elbow, and feeding Aaron Gordon, Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. The Heat paired Bam Adebayo on him but never found an answer.

From the 41st pick in 2014 — a Serbian "project" scouts overlooked — to lifting the FMVP in 2023, Jokić completed one of basketball's most improbable rises. The trophy was his, and a plateau city's first taste of glory. The 2023 Joker is Denver's eternal hero.
