Olympic Gold and Representing Country: Draymond’s National-Team Glory

Beyond four NBA rings, Green won two Olympic golds — he is the equally indispensable defensive core of Team USA.

In Draymond Green's trophy case, beside four NBA rings sit two heavy Olympic golds — he is the equally key defensive axis of the U.S. "Dream Team."

Green made Team USA on the very "switch + playmake" skill from Golden State. International opponents differ, but his all-around fit is strong: he can bang inside, switch outside, and facilitate with passing. Coaches valued exactly his "impact without needing the ball" trait.

He played the 2020 Tokyo Olympics (held 2021) and the 2024 Paris Olympics, standing atop both times. Among the star-studded roster, Green gladly played blue-collar and commander, quietly holding the floor with defense and playmaking — just as in Golden State.

The Olympic experience fed back into his NBA career. Battling international bigs and fitting varied systems widened his defensive experience. Back with the Warriors, he read more styles.

Two Olympic golds complete his "grand slam": four NBA titles, DPOY, FMVP, All-Star, Olympic gold — a combination rare in league history.

For the national team, Green is the player who brings America's team-defense ethos on court. His national glory, like his club dynasty, is written with the word "system."
