Hall of Fame and No. 10: New York’s Eternal Tribute to "Clyde"

In 1987 Walt Frazier entered the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame—the ultimate recognition of two rings, one Finals MVP, seven All-Star nods and iron-clad defense.

The Knicks retired his No. 10, hanging beside Reed's No. 19 and DeBusschere's No. 22 in the Madison Square Garden rafters. Whenever "Clyde" returns to the Garden, the crowd rises—he is part of New York's basketball DNA.

At the retirement ceremony he said his proudest achievement was "helping the Knicks win two championships." For a guard who put team before self, that may be the most fitting epitaph.
