The 2023 NBA Finals were the crowning moment of Nikola Jokić's career. He led the Denver Nuggets to a 4-1 series win over the Miami Heat, delivering the franchise's first championship in 47 years, and was unanimously named Finals Most Valuable Player (FMVP).
Across that series, Jokić was historic: 30.2 points, 14.0 rebounds and 7.2 assists per game on 58.3% shooting. The signature was Game 4 — he posted a 30-point, 20-rebound, 10-assist near quadruple-double to clinch the title at home, becoming one of the rare players with multiple 30-20-10 games in the Finals.
The FMVP's weight lay in "all-around dominance." Jokić didn't win on a single burst; he shredded Miami with scoring, rebounding and passing — posting up with footwork, orchestrating from the elbow, and feeding Aaron Gordon, Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. The Heat paired Bam Adebayo on him but never found an answer.
