2025 Thunder’s Roar: SGA Leads OKC to First Title
In 2025, Oklahoma City finally claimed its throne. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (SGA) led the Thunder to the top in 2024-25, surviving a seven-game Finals against the Indiana Pacers to win the title.
It was the Thunder’s first championship since the franchise moved from Seattle in 2008, and the first for OKC in nearly half a century counting the SuperSonics era. SGA led all scorers in the series and was irreplaceable on both ends, uncontested as Finals MVP.
A young Thunder core built around SGA and a cluster of talented youngsters completed a stunning leap from rebuild to champion. The trophy announced the arrival of a new OKC era.
When the final buzzer sounded and SGA raised the Finals MVP trophy, the roar of Oklahoma City fans echoed across the plains.
